For 25 years we’ve felt the same; right from the first day when Arena Animation opened on the 3rd floor of Kohinoor Building, which was the first and the oldest skyscraper of Kolkata. We knew then that the sky was no limit as we launched a mission to make Indian students as animation savvy as the Americans.
Over the years, the Kohinoor Building has borne witness to the ever changing melange that is Park Street; where our city of joy keeps capturing the hearts of her residents and visitors, with her many vibrant colours, sounds, scents, and sights; pink strawberry cakes at Flurys, multi-coloured spices at the chat vendor finding their way into the most delicious concoction ever, the fragrance of slowly cooking kebabs at Peter Cat, the distinctive scent in the pages of a new book inside the chestnut aisles of Oxford Bookstore, the sparkle of the many saree shops with their gorgeous displays of fine Indian brocades, silks, and georgettes, the spectacle of merry Xmas lights twinkling year after year with the cars honking by on end of the year wintry evenings…there’s no full stop to the list of little joys that Park Street has to offer.
